Our Purpose

A Mission Born of Compassion

Mission Relief Services is a private non-profit humanitarian aid organization specializing in the redistribution of medical and surgical supplies to more than 40 countries worldwide. The organization collects, processes, and ships donated supplies from hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare facilities to designated areas of need. Through the responsible stewardship of donations, Mission Relief helps transform healthcare infrastructures worldwide — one shipment, one clinic, one life at a time.

🏥
Medical Supply Redistribution
We partner with hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities to rescue donated supplies and redirect them to communities that need them most.
🌍
Global Reach
Our network of recipients spans more than 40 countries across Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe, and beyond.
🤝
Donor-First Philosophy
We believe the mission begins with the donor. Our long-term relationships with regional hospitals ensure reliable, sustained giving.

Our Story

Two Decades of Purposeful Relief

What began with a single trip to Russia and a vision to help has grown into one of the region's most dedicated medical relief organizations.

1992

A Vision Takes Root

During a winter trip to Russia, James P. Harrison, III witnessed first-hand how people suffer due to insufficient medical care — and recognized how donated hospital supplies could alleviate that suffering. He began collecting and shipping medical supplies for Carelift International and then Christian Relief Charities.

2001

Mission Relief Services Is Born

Jim left Christian Relief Charities to establish Mission Relief Services as an independent nonprofit — expanding capacity, increasing the donor base, and broadening the network of recipients around the world.

2003

Team Expansion

John R. DiSimone joined Mission Relief as IT Coordinator, bringing systems expertise from Villanova University. The growing team enabled broader logistics and deeper donor engagement across the tri-state area.

2005

City of Philadelphia Recognition

Jim Harrison was recognized by the City of Philadelphia with the Citizen's Diplomacy Award — a testament to the growing impact of Mission Relief's global humanitarian work.

Today

Ongoing Growth & Expansion

Mission Relief continues to grow its network of hospital donors, volunteers, and international partners. With programs now active in Honduras and Latin America, the organization is poised for its most impactful chapter yet.
